Text Box: AF36 SUMMARY

In 2005 and 2006, the Yuco Gin Board voted to cover the cost for the AF36 product for its’ members.  The producer is responsible for his or her own application costs.  AF36 may be applied by ground or air [pictured below].

In 2006, the cost of AF36 was $5.00 per acre.  The ACRPC receives orders from Arizona, Texas and California growers.  AF36 may be packaged in whatever size the grower requests, usually no less than 50 lb. bags and no more than 2,000 lb. bags.

The timing of the application of AF36 is essential to its success.  It should be applied after cultivation and either right before or right after irrigation with some crop canopy.  AF36 has shown to make a significant difference in the quality of crops when applied each year.  When applied consistently, the Aspergillus flavus AF36, or “non-toxic fungus”, will start to build a colony that will grow and displace the “S” strain, or toxic fungus, over time.  The result is a higher quality crop and thus more desirable in the market place yielding a higher price.
